Best animation base kit for third person games! by Anon_1754Vote
This is the best base animation package for basic movement available in the asset store for sure. Animations use root motion and are the most fluid and realistic of any simple movement animations I have seen, and reminds me of the animation fluidity of a popular game called "Mass Effect". There is everything including side step in all direction, running strafes, running charge, backwards jog, forward job, realistic jump animation (you can see they used high grade motion capture equipment rather than do the animation by hand). This asset eliminates lots of tinkering with animation blending a developer must do because of the incredible varieties of the animations available. One example is instead of developer suffering to blend run and jump animation, included in this asset is an animation where the animated model runs forward and jumps. The animation is so fluid, I am not surprised if it is used by even large AAA company rather than contracted animator. Because of the many combo animations in this asset, you can use these to even build your own scripted in game cutscene such as a chase scene!

There are so many variation of every simple type of movement, it can be overwhelming at first. It also not help much that the animations in asset in my opinion are named generically and sort of blend together. It is easy to confuse if you leave the names as is (if you forget lots like me). But lucky for us, Unity makes animation preview quite easy, so you can rename every animation by yourself to fit your need and ease of searching. However, I warn you will be previewing for quite the amount of time, because there are many, MANY animations present in the asset.

The animation all come standard .FBX format, and is very easy to integrate into any of your projects as long as you understand basic animation workings in Unity. I very much recommend replacing all basic movement animations (like jog, walk, sprint, sidestep, jump) with the animation in this asset. You will see immediate upgrade to AAA quality animation! As an added bonus, there is a nice model included that you can see in the demo videos.
